Anytime I download anything from Microsoft I take my zipdrive to a public place and do it there. Haven't tried it on service packs but I think it'll work. I always get them from a friend that works for them!

 

But how do you get to wherever Microsoft keeps downloadable service packs? In Windows 98 and 2000 I was able to download the files, but now it just starts searching my PC and holding it hostage to do with it whatever Bill Gates wants. I need to control that process and I'm not seeing that option on the Microsoft download site.

Select Windows update, once at the update site.

Then select, "Find updates for windows operating systems."

Then select which operating system you wish to search for the updates.

You will then see a window with a list of downloads to chose from.

Or get a hold of the CD's that M$ sends out once a month - used to be called technet.
