Try this, open Firefox/Tools/Options/Downloads/under Downoload Folder
make sure "Ask me where to save every file" is ticked. See att.

k, so I got to click a download link and I get the popup that gives you a chice between "open File" or "Save to disk" and I have it set to ask me where to download every file. A few days ago this was working fine. Today, I went to download something, clicked save to disk, and a popup never came up asking me where to save the file and the file never started downloading. So I had to use IE, where it worked fine. What could be causing this? Never used to do it...

even if it wasn't ticked, when I open up the download section where it shows active downloads, there's nothing there, which means the download never started. >_<
