Heya,

I revently got a Compro VideoMate E700 TV Tuner card, and whenever I install ComproDTV 3 (3.0.4.4) I am unable to watch movies in Wndows Media Player. I get the error message:
Windows media player cannot play your DVD video. You may need to adjust your windows display settings. Open screen settings in Control Panel, and then try lowering your screen resolution and colour quality settings.
If I uninstall the software, I can watch movies again. Obviously I don't want to have to uninstall/reinstall ComproDVT everytime I want to watch a DVD, so I need a solution. I just can't think of one, and Google has been thusfar unhelpful.

The tuner DID come with Compro DVD 2 (1.00.30607) so I decided to try using this, but it doesn't seem to decode the surround sound, and I can't find where to change the decoder settings. Also, I have an OEM version of PowerDVD, but if I want it to decode Surround Sound, then I need to pay money. I had things working great with Windows Media Player, so does anyone know how to fix this problem. Perhaps an alternative program to ComproDTV? Also, if anyone can reccomend an alternative card that DOES work (preferably PCI Express) without incompatabilities, let me know, I have about 4 days of grace, in which time I am allowed to take the product back for issues such as this.

As things are now, I will probably end up returning it, and getting a different brand...

Also, when I am using the TV tuner, I don't have any surround sound... isn't HDTV supposed to have 5.1 surround sound? That's what they keep advertising...

P.S. I am using Windows Vista Business
