Invisible Malware

I believe that I have malware on my external drive.
I am using Windows XP.
The problem has been that when I'm on the internet (regardless of which browser I am using) I will randomly (sometimes days or weeks in between when it does it) be rerouted to sites with malware. The most recent one was hxxp://www.winsystemantivirus7.com/ with a whole bunch of random numbers and letters after it. I have also had Antivirus Pro 2009 and 2010. To get rid of the latter two, I returned my computer to factory settings using my boot disk. I had thought that maybe, I kept stumbling over it on websites. However, I had only just started to reload everything on my computer, when it occurred again. The only things I loaded were Trillian, AVG 9.0, and iTunes and my music from my external drive. (Leading me to believe that is where the virus/malware must lie.) I have scanned both my C drive and my external drive for viruses using Malwarebytes, AVG Free, Avast, and HouseCall. Nothing ever comes up as being amiss. (I now only have Avast running as suggested by a sticky post.)

I did recently find a so-called music file that was only 52Kb and only labeled as "Track 02" with no length on it and I deleted it without thinking. It is also now off of my external drive.

How do I get a virus/malware off of my external drive when no scanning program detects what's happen? I have a great deal of pictures, music, and documents that I would rather not lose. Please help. Thanks in advance.

I didn't know whether or not to post the dds or gmer things already. Please let me know if I need to post them.

And just as I posted that, I saw a dark blue screen with some sort of error. It blinked by too fast to read it. And my laptop just rebooted itself.
