What power supply, wattage and brand.
Did you insure all of your standoffs are in the right place? One wayward
standoff can cause a short.
Have you tried running the mobo outside of the case? This will
eliminate the possiblity of grounding out. If your power supply is ample
did you use the pci-e leads to power your video card?

its the oem psu that came with the atx mid-tower case by power up and i was using the leads to power my video card but i took that out to see it might be the problem but its the same so u thin it might be my psu and i will try taking it out of the case to see if that might be the issure thanks for the help will keep u posted on it oh im nub this is the first bottom up pc ive built myself ^__^ and what is wayward? lol sorry

You have a standoff in the wrong place, ie screwed into the case.
Or something from the mobo touching the case. I would bet on a
standoff in the wrong place.
If you have 9 standoffs screwed into the case, you should screw
9 screws to secure the board. If you only have 8 screws, then you
know there is one un accounted for, thus the problem.
Dont depend on the generic power supply that came with the case.
It may work now, but down the road it spells trouble. Unless you have
a real good power supply that came with the case, which is usually
not the case.

it turns on now thanks for your help man now i just need to try to figur out how to format my hdd o_O because im recycling my old hdd and well windows wont boot up and i messed with the boot config but it dosent work any ideas?

If your old hdd has a operating system on it, take it out of the
pc. That way there will be no confusion when trying to install the
os on the new drive.
Go into bios, if your hdd is a sata drive, you must tell bios to treat the
drive as ide, not sata. If raid is enabled, disable it. Make sure your
boot order is set to cdrom, then hdd.

i dont have a new drive im salvaging my old hdd kinda of on a budget well am and i got a cmos checksum bad on boot but it dosent shut down like ive read in other post i get into bios and everything just fine and dandy and should i pull my video card back out before i attempt anything else?

Turn raid off. You can use a ide drive, not a problem. You can use
sata not a problem. You just have to tell bios to treat sata as ide.
It may do that automatically, some boards dont. If you have a ide
drive, and a sata drive, I would only have one connected when
installing the os. When that is over, then install the other drive as
a slave drive. If you are using a ide drive as the boot drive "c" make
sure its by itself on the primary ide cable, and the drive is set to
master via the jumper on the back of the drive...
With some boards, the sata drive if thats your boot drive needs to
be plugged into the sata port 1. Not sure if it matters but Ive seen that
in some manuals and did what the instructions said to do.

You have me very confused. If your hdd is a sata drive, not ide.
Connect it to sata 1 slot on your motherboard. Make sure the power
connector is installed, it can only go in one way.
You only have one ide slot on the mobo. That is where your cdrom
drive will be connected. Make sure that the cdrom drive has the jumpers
on the back of the drive set to Master. If you look at the back of the
cdrom drive you should see how to move the little jumper to Master.
Go into bios, make sure that bios treats the sata drive like Ide, there
is a option in bios to do this. I know Ive said this before, but make
sure raid is Disabled. Make sure your boot order is correct. 1st boot
device should be your cdrom drive, which is Master on the only ide
slot you have. Second boot device should be the Sata drive, which
is being treated as a Ide device. You need to read your manual as to
how to setup the rest of bios, most things you can leave to auto.
But you will have to set the time and date, and what type of video
you have. If you have a pci-e card, you need to set bios to pci-e.
Take your time, I think your close, but blowing by some simple stuff....
